Never considered myself to be talented at any fine arts (though I've tried), I consider myself to be pretty crafty. Not in the traditional, underhanded, evil schemer sense of crafty, but in the "I like to create things, but not necessarily in an artistic way" way, ya follow?
I started scrapbooking in high school, and that has evolved into a love of photography, paper crafts, party design, and various other design aspects. I was the crazy bride who made every single invitation piece by hand, not a simple task. I hand picked vintage and eclectic pieces and designed each tablescape, and crafted so many elements of that day. I was the crazy mom-to-be who had to have my son's nursery *just so* by 30 weeks of my pregnancy. Why yes, we bought paint immediately after the ultrasound picking one of the two themes I had picked based on the sex of the baby, isn't that normal? And recently, I was the mom who planned a way-too-big first birthday bash, hand crafting many of the elements for that.
I thought I'd blog my crafty journey. I figure maybe it could make me document the work, and then I can appreciate it in photos. Some of my crafty creations are only used for a fleeting moment, at least that's what it feels like. Days and hours of prep for a two hour party? -Total blur on the details!
My first post will be a fairly new adventure for me, into the world of decoupage, a redesign of our hand-me-down coffee table, coming soon.
